Trenchless Technologies

The Company performs construction and renovation operations on transport and engineering communications by applying trenchless technologies which constitute one of the main directions of the expansion of the Company’s business activities. New pipelines are laid and old pipelines under the road coverings, railways, water bodies are renovated with the help of these advanced technologies.

With the help of trenchless technologies and by using the trenchers, the cables, pipelines are laid in unoccupied territories in the ground by minimally damaging the crops and other vegetation.

Methods of trenchless technologies:

1. Laying of the cables, pipelines with the trencher

The method of laying with the trencher is applied when laying new cables or pipelines in the diameter of up to 63 mm in the ground, in the depth of up to 1.5 m. The Ditch Witch trenchers in the basis of the wheeled tractor are used for the purpose of not disrupting the kerbs. With the help of the injection unit, the cable may be injected into the laid pipelines, the construction length of which is up to 5 km.

2. Horizontally controlled directional drilling

This method is applied when laying new pipelines in the diameter of up to 400 mm without digging the ground in hardly accessible locations (under the roads, trees, rivers). Maximum length is up to 300 m. A tunnel is made under the ground in the way of drilling, which the pipe is drawn into. During the drilling, the length and direction of the drilling are regulated. The Grundodrill-type units are used by the Company.

3. Closed passages by the reeving method

This method is applied when laying the pipelines in small distances under the roads, construction works. After making the tunnel under the ground in the way of reeving, the steel and plastic pipes are hammered. Maximum reeving length is up to 30 m, maximum casing diameter is up to 420 mm.

4. Renovation

This method is applied to the renovation of current pipelines. The old asphalt cement, cast-iron pipeline are splintered with the pneumatic impact unit. A tunnel of the required diameter is formed with the reamer and the plastic pipe is drawn in it. The Company uses the units, with the help of which the pipelines in the diameter of up to 225 mm may be renovated.
